The Samaná peninsula is the most cinematic corner of the Dominican Republic — humpback whales breaching in the bay from January to March, the El Limón waterfall, deserted beaches around Las Galeras and the postcard island of Cayo Levantado. I've filmed whales here for my own showreel, and I keep coming back: for real estate projects, eco-lodges and tourism operators who need footage that does this landscape justice.
