Santiago is the workhorse of the Dominican economy — free-zone manufacturing, world-famous cigar houses, agro-industry and a fast-growing real estate market in the hills of the Cibao valley. It's also just 90 minutes from my studio in Cabarete, which makes it the easiest 'big city' shoot on my calendar: morning drive down, full shooting day, footage backed up by night.
